Getting around

Flying into Ottawa

If you are flying into Ottawa, connecting to the LRT (Light Rail Transit) is straightforward. After landing at Ottawa International Airport (YOW), follow the signs for public transit and the O-Train. The airport is directly connected to Line 4, the Trillium Line, via a short indoor walk. Take Line 4 northbound to Bayview Station, where you will transfer to Line 1, the Confederation Line, which runs east and west through downtown.

If you prefer a simpler option, taxis and ride services are readily available just outside the arrivals area. Cabs are metered, easy to find, and offer a direct ride to downtown hotels or other neighbourhoods without transfers.

Arriving by Train

Arriving in Ottawa by VIA Rail is simple to pair with the city’s LRT. Once you arrive at Ottawa’s VIA Rail Station, exit the main doors and follow the clear signs for public transit. The Tremblay LRT Station is right beside the VIA Rail station and is only a short walk across the entrance, usually two minutes or less.

From Tremblay Station, board Line 1, the Confederation Line. If you are heading downtown, take the westbound train toward stations like Rideau, Parliament, or Tunney’s Pasture.
